Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"very high stress, manager is a compulsive liar , dispatcher is his minion and lies just as bad trash talks whoever isn't in the room. last minute changes they are very confused , micro manage you to death , 7 or so employees and there is more drama stories and fighting then a huge auto plant. everyone is more concerned with everybody else's days vs their own. your treated like a kid having your hand held constantly, your told about 3 raises at hire your lucky to get 1. cameras in the truck they constantly watch you and bug you while your tryin to work about simple things that dont even matter .."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"It used to be a good job, but the company has been in decline for the last few years. The facility in Henderson, KY looks like a garbage dump. There are junk trailers and totes all over the place, and trailers parked in the mud, cat pee and feces all in the garage... Pay is a joke, as people stay just long enough till they find something better. The 401k match was cut down from 10 to 8%, and overtime was cut out, and there are talks off layoffs on the horizon, as they seem to somehow continue losing business. All the signs point to the location in Henderson being shut down, as they don’t seem to spent much money on facility maintenance."

says"The culture is not conducive to one's success. AND if you have a disability, there is little to no understanding or support. The job description I was given was not even close to what my duties were. When I disclosed the fact that I had a disability, they were less than understanding and wanted me out quickly and quietly. The entire process was an utter nightmare."
Current Employee - Ar Clerk says"Bullying is accepted at Brenntag. It has gotten better since they finally have an HR person who has some training. If a person bullies the victim is made out to be in the wrong. The bully is treated better than the victim and there is not a punishment for the bully."
says"Ineffective, inept management, at both the local and regional level. The workload is not shared evenly. Incompetent, lazy employees are allowed to do as they please. The more competent you are, and the harder you work, the more they give you. It's feast or famine with the workload. And there is no recognition in the way of bonuses or any other acknowledgment to those people who work there behind's off. There are seldom opportunities for advancement, and pay increases are extremely rare."

The incompetence level of the managers are through the roof. The people in position of power just like to throw their power around just to try to prove a point."
Other (Former Employee) says"Bottom line, this division is run by a glorified salesman who is the president and complaince who lives for creating a work enviorment that is toxic and so negative it's a daily discussion. This division has been bought, sold, and worked to death. Like most problems companies have, it starts with the leadership. The leadership in this company consists of people who have leveraged company buy outs to their advantage and climbed the corporate ladder, or have been put in their position by those people. Improvments had been seen, and some folks were hired to actually improve safety and morale which they did but were sadly let go for not fitting the leadership style. Promotion and recognition are completely missing. Eggshells is the best way to put it being employed here, but other faciltities enjoy actual caring people. This twice if your a professional."

From the President to Compliance I found the company to be something out of a nightmare. No support, no flexability, and most of all miocro-managed to the max. Safety had imporved greatly but that was trashed in the end. It makes no sense to work here unless you are begging. They pay is so off scale they don't even realize the damage they do. It becomes a numbers game for bonuses as well. They are gonna need more than just glorified Salesmen and Directors who have been bounced more times than a ball."

A great company for a yes man to generate no change or improvements within the company. Management are unprofessional and personal about other members of staff. A very toxic environment which is best avoided. Poor work life balance, worked to death with no appreciation for anything that you do. Big disparity between management and the ground workers. It also seems that staff retention is very poor and they mess people around in order to give them a sense of self importance- men in suits with little diversity. My advice is: Avoid this awful company like the plague. Dull environment with a horrible welcome on reception too. Chemical material handler (Current Employee) says"Management has no knowledge of chemical field low pay no training no safety awareness spills happen on the constant employees get hurt and nothing is done about it employee got hit with a 3inch hose in the face pressurized could've killed him another employee had a pump explode on him and nothing was done to correct the situation just swept under the rug they claim they have been 2000 days without incident. The elmendorf plant is a major accident waiting to happen or someone will eventually get killed there"
